Michelle Strebchuk graduated with honours from Lethbridge College's 1000 hour Massage Therapy Certificate program in 1999, and successfully completed a nationally recognized voluntary Competency Equivalency Exam in 2016. This exam measures the professional skills, knowledge, and conduct of massage therapists against the Inter-Jurisdictional Practice Competencies and Performance Indicators for Massage Therapists at Entry-to-Practice(IJ) document. The two-part exam consists of a multiple-choice written examination, and an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). The OSCE has candidates demonstrate their competency in assessment, massage techniques, and clinical judgment through eight individual stations. Candidates like Michelle who successfully pass both components of the exam are seen as equivalent to meeting the competencies of a 2,200-hour training programs set to the IJ standards. (Not all 2200 hour massage therapy programs and graduates meet this standard).
She is committed to ongoing professional education and uses her advanced training in relaxation, therapeutic, prenatal massage, and deep tissue massage to provide a gentle, effective massage that will meet your specific needs.
She is also a certified reflexologist, and may include some gentle reflex work in the course of your massage therapy session to assist with relaxing tense or congested areas elsewhere in your body.
Your treatment may also include self-care and pain management techniques to help you get the most out of each treatment.
Michelle Strebchuk is a member of the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada. She is also an approved service provider (and able to direct bill) many extended health insurance plans*, including Alberta Blue Cross, ASEBP, Chamber of Commerce Group Insurance, Cowan, Desjardins Insurance, Great-West Life, Industrial Alliance, Johnston Inc., Manulife Financial, Maximum Benefit or Johnston Group, Standard Life, and SunLife Financial.
What our clients say:
"I feel awesome! You truly rock. Looking forward to my next one." JH
"My session was great. It made me realize how much I miss them. I will be a more regular client from now on :)
"Some of the table was intense, especially when you found that spot on my shin that shot needle jabs into my back! But the good part is, now I can sit without pain in my leg for the most part. I just get pain in my [butt] when I sit....which is a vast improvement! Before, everything would hurt from my back down to my ankle, and especially my thigh muscle. Now it's just my [butt]. I'll take any improvement I can get...my day is much brighter now, thanks to YOU and the grace of GOD! See you tomorrow.... I am sooooo looking forward to it! Best part....when you're done, I can come home and just totally chill and bask in the glow of feeling awesome for a while!
PS, while we're at it....I'd dearly love to get in two more appts next week, if you can fit me in somehow. If one appt worked so well, I'm sure a continuation will just make it that much better and you have no idea how good it felt to be virtually pain free after suffering a month of sheer HELL." CH
"B was so happy with his massage and really liked that you explained everything to him. Thank you so much, he's been in pain for a long time and we're so appreciative. You are amazing at what you do." SG
"What relieves my pain? YOU!!!" AC
