About Us:

Michelle is a Certified Massage Therapist with advanced training in pre- and peri-natal massage, lymphatic drainage, myofascial meridians, and orthopedic massage. Her home-based clinic is located near High Prairie, Alberta.

In addition to over eighteen years of massage therapy practice, Michelle has over fifteen years of infant massage instruction experience. She and her family reside on their certified organic farm in Northern Alberta. She is a mother of three.

Michelle graduated with honours from Lethbridge College's 1000 hour Massage Therapy Certificate program in 1999. She successfully completed a nationally recognized voluntary Competency Equivalency Exam in 2016.

This exam measures the professional skills, knowledge, and conduct of massage therapists against the Inter-Jurisdictional Practice Competencies and Performance Indicators for Massage Therapists at Entry-to-Practice (IJ) document. The two-part exam consists of a multiple-choice written examination, and an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). The OSCE has candidates demonstrate their competency in assessment, massage techniques, and clinical judgment through eight individual stations. Candidates like Michelle who successfully pass both components of the exam are seen as equivalent to meeting the competencies of a 2,200-hour training programs set to the IJ standards. (Not all 2200 hour massage therapy programs and graduates meet this standard).

Michelle is committed to ongoing professional education and uses her advanced training in relaxation, therapeutic, prenatal massage, and deep tissue massage to provide a gentle, effective massage that will meet your specific needs.

Also a certified reflexologist, she may include some gentle reflex work during your massage session to enhance your treatment results.

Your treatment may also include self-care and pain management techniques to help you get the most out of each treatment.

Michelle Strebchuk is a member of the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC), the nation's largest holistic health association. She's been a member since her college graduation in 1999 (then known as the AMTWP -Association of Massage Therapists and Wholistic Practitioners).

Michelle is also a Certified Member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP), a US-based association with excellent resources and continuing education offerings.

Last, but not least, Michelle is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI) with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM).

Michelle first trained to become a CIMI in Calgary with Sylvie Hétu in 2000, and refreshed her training with Sylvie in 2016. She was elected to the IAIM-Canada Board of Directors in November 2017.
